On 17 March in Hrodna the road police detained seven Pentecostals when they were driving out of Hrodna. The believers were going to Minsk to pray for the peaceful outcome of the presidential election. All of them were sentenced to 3 days of jail for ‘petty hooliganism’ (article 156 of the Code of Administrative Violations). The police accused them of swearing.
’We weren’t even admitted to the court’, said the wife of one of the detainees to a Pahonia correspondent. ‘Now we don’t know anything about their fate’.
