Minsk Hospitals Refused to Give Information about Persons Beaten by Police on 25 March
HRC Viasna still has no information about the location and surnames of the persons who were beaten during the dispersal of the peaceful procession on 25 March in Minsk. Belarusian medics seem to have forgotten about Hippocrates’ oath. On 26 March journalists and relatives of the beaten persons applied to all hospitals of Minsk, asking for information.
The reception rooms of Ambulance Hospital, hospitals #1, 2, 4, 5 and 9 answered they had no information or they didn’t accept any beaten persons. However, some honest medics published such information on the web. That’s how we found about some of the persons who were taken to hospitals with different injuries. Some of the beaten also applied to human rights activists and told the terrible diagnoses that were put after the beatings. However, many surnames remain unknown, there’s still no information about the fate and location of these people. The victims say that those who were beaten at the action weren’t introduced into the medical registers. Many of them were taken away by the police or persons in plain clothes despite the fact that the people needed hospitalization.
