The court of Savetski borough of Minsk has sentenced the leader of the democratic forces of Belarus Aliaksandr Milinkevich to 15 days of arrest. The politician has been charged with violation of the Article 167 part 2 - organizing unsanctioned rallies. The peaceful march “The Path of Chernobyl” held in Minsk on April 26, notably sanctioned by city authorities, has been announced an “unsanctioned rally”. The verdict to Aliaksandr Milinkevich was delivered by judge Iury Harbatouski.
The chairman of the Party of Communists of Belarus Siarhei Kaliakin and the leader of the labour party Aliaksandr Bukhvostau detained in the morning of April 27. This day the chairman of the PCB and the leader of the labour party were invited to the city internal affairs department for discussing the format of the opposition action which is to be held on May 1. The leaders were detained when going out of the building of the department.
