Activists of Salihorsk branch of the Young Front have lit dozens of candles at the central square of the town as a sign of solidarity with the leaders of the Young Front who have been hurled into prisons now, and with those advocates of changes who are persecuted by authorities for their political activism.
Portraits of the well-known political prisoners and victims of regime were placed there. Many people were attracted by the light of candles. Passers-by asked about the fate of political prisoners. Then policemen arrived. First a police patrol on foot, then policemen on bikes, and later a police car appeared on the scene. About a dozen of policemen looked at the candles at a loss.
After consulting their chiefs, policemen started to trample on the candles and throw them away by feet. Onlookers were indignant at that. Some of them even phoned to a police call center and informed that about ten policemen make a mess in the center of the town, the Young Front press service informed.
