A requiem-meeting was held at Uskhodnia cemetery on the occasion of Vasil Bykaus 82nd birthday. The meeting was attended by Ryhor Baradulin, Henadz Buraukin, Valiantsin Taras, Anatol Viartsinski and other writers, poets and public figures.
- Freedom and Truth were the values asserted by the life and books of Bykau. Belarusians, first of all, will have to read Bykau, in order to find their own freedom and truth, said Buraukin.
