An entrepreneur who dares to open a bank account abroad without an official permission, will face criminal punishment. The provosion was passed by the House of Representatives on June 23.
The changes to the Criminal Code were made after the president urged to foster fighting shadow economy in small business.
According to Aliaksandr Patupa, head of Belarusian Union of Entrepreneurs, said this measure seems strange. Individual entrepreneurs would never open a personal account. Ordinary people also need a permit for opening an account abroad. So all this is just an empty threat.
