Issue Of Trade Union Rights Is Raised At Press-conference In Moscow
As leader of Belarusan Congress of democratic trade unions Alaksandr Jarashuk told BelaPAN, on July 6 after the conference of leaders of international trade union organizations of G-8 countries its participants met with Uladzimir Putin. Among other issues secretary general of International Confederation of Free Trade Unions Guy Rider and chairman of Russian Independent trade union federation Mikhail Shmakau raised the problem of trade union rights violation in Belarus. Russian president was interested by the provided information, noted Jarashuk. Putin stated that if these facts are true he will discuss the problem with his Belarusan colleague.
Congress leader also told that the issue on violation of trade union rights was discussed at the press-conference where leaders of trade union organizations from G-8 countries took part. In particular, the question about trade union rights was asked by journalist of Belaruski Chas, Federation of Belarusan trade union newspaper. Answering the questions the representatives of trade unions gave negative estimation to the situation with trade unions in Belarus. Mikhail Shmakau expressed his hope that all words of the press-conference participants will not be distorted.
