According to Valery Levaneuski, over 18 tons of bread were stolen from Hrodna prison #1 detainees from May till October 2004.
A prisoner should get not less than 500 grams of bread a day. While Levaneuski was serving his term bread was replaced with some mixed fodder (according to the prison administration, it was NATO aid.
Levaneuski addressed the prosecutors office, the Soviet of Ministers and other bodies, but not a single complaint seems to have left the prison.
Levaneuski asked Hrodna prosecutors office to initiate a criminal case.
