The head of the European Commission and the High Representative of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the EU Javier Solana has called upon the Belarusian authorities to release and declare not guilty Partnership activists, and all political prisoners of Belarus immediately.
This week Lukashenka has stated his wish to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with the EU. Unfortunately, conviction of political activists would not contribute to development of such cooperation, in this way Javier Solana commented on the verdict to Partnership activists to RFE/RL.
It is expected from the leadership of the EU to make a statement in relation to the verdict to Partnership activists on Monday.
