It is too early to draw the line in the case of Babruisk activist Ales Chyhir, who had chained himself to a lamppost in front of Babruisk executive committee. As we have informed, the former head of Aliaksandr Milinkevich regional campaign headquarters protested against his dismissal from job on political grounds.
Now Chyhir plans to file a claim against the actions of the city education department. Besides, he has submitted an application to the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and asked to help him to be reinstated in job. Mr. Chyhir does not believe that the pro-regime trade union would react in any way, but as said by him, there is a certain routine, and he is going to follow it. As a result it would be possible for his case to be considered by the International Labor Organization (ILO). At the moment lawyers are preparing documents.
Meanwhile the city Prosecutor’s office has a report for Chyhir’s actions. On 1 September, the day after his protest, Chyhir was summonsed to explain his actions.
