Salihorsk: Parents of Young Front Activist Fined for ˜Malignant Evasion from Parental Duties’

On 7 September a commission on affairs of underage delinquents fined the parents of the Young Front activist Zmitser Iefimovich 93 000 Belarusian rubles for ˜malignant evasion from upbringing their child’. The commission presented stickers and evidence of another young guy as confirmation of that. During the detention Zmitser refused to explain anything.

It’s was third detention for the activist. He has actively participated in March events in the center of Minsk. He is not surprised with the result of the commission’s session: ˜It’s a usual occurrence for Belarus that young people with active public position are fined for participation in political actions and dissemination of alternative information. Those who were detained for being drunk, for fights, are simply officially warned or expelled from the BRYU… It is obvious that such youth pastime is a priority today,’ commented Iefimovich.

Let us remind that Zmitser Iefimovich, Dzianis Brutski and Ivan Shyla were detained on 13 August in the night, while pasting stickers.
