Babruisk: Aliaksandr Chyhir Detained again
In the morning of 12 September in Babruisk the police detained the teacher of history Aliaksandr Chyhir in his flat. The detention was conducted by lieutenant-colonel Hlushko, captain Malisheuski and senior lieutenant Malakhau. The police drew on him a report with charges under article 166 (resistance to the police) and 167.1 (organization or active participation in unauthorized action) of the Administrative Code. Let us remind that on 31 August the deputy of Babruisk City Deputy Soviet, teacher of history Aliaksandr Chyhir chained himself to a lamppost opposite Babruisk City Executive Committee to protest against his politically motivated dismissal from school (during the presidential election Mr Chyhir headed the local headquarters of the democratic candidate Aliaksandr Milinkevich). Thus, by detaining him the police violated the deputy’s immunity.
The trial of the deputy will take place at 3 p.m. on 13 September.
