According to the Belarusian association of Journalists’ press-service Iulia Darashkevich, from Nasha Niva newspaper was detained during a special police squad raid in Mahiliou.
The policemen broke into the house’s yard and commanded the youngsters to go to the police bus outside. Iulia Darashkevich and Ales Burakou (Radio Racyja) were wearing press-cards. In spite of this, they were detained without giving their names. Iulia Darshkevich was not allowed to take photos during the detention.
The activists and the journalists were taken to Mahiliou Leninski Borough Board of Internal Affairs. Iulia was told to erase the photos taken during the detention. Two hours later she was released.
