Siarhei Alfer, chairperson of the executive committee of the United Civil Party, will not get his money back. On September 18 Minsk city court considered Alfer’s cassation complaint about the actions of the Minsk-2 airport customs officers. Judge Natalla Zhupikava upheld the verdict of Kastrychnitski borough courtmade on August 11.
On March 25 Siarhei Alfer flew home from Warsaw through airport Minsk-2. Customs officers confiscated 80 US dollars and 135 Euro from him on suspicion that the money was counterfeit. The UCP activist hoped the trial would help him to get the money back. However, he failed to succeed: the money is still being examined by KGB experts.
