Mr Poffala stated that the leadership of Germany is against violence and dictatorship, and this position caused visa sanctions by the EU against a number of Belarusian officials. He said ‘it is a strong signal for those concerned. This signal means that you are kept an eye on. Your names are registered in files, and it would be better to stop crack down on freedom and democracy today, then tomorrow.’ Mr Poffala assured that the EU and Germany would support those who advocate free Belarus and will impose sanctions against those who prevent that.
