The reason for this decision of the public activist was a recent incident with her 33-year-old son. Last Saturday he was knocked down in one of the city’s streets. He asked for hospitalization, but wasn’t accepted. Alena Zakhozhaia is sure that it is a reaction to her hunger-strike. The information about the end of the action was distributed by the press-service of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions. During the last two days Mrs Zakhozhaia doesn’t answer any telephone calls. We should remind that the hunger-strike started on 3 October. The woman protested against violation of the rights of members of the independent trade union by the administration of Belshyna plant.
