CEC Contests Lukashenka’s Statement
“The Central Election Commission does not know about facts of rigging presidential elections results. All results have been summed up on the basis of poll protocols and show the real expression of will of voters,” the secretary of the Central Election Commission Mikalai Lazavik said commenting on the statement of A. Lukashenka that the last presidential elections results had been rigged.
We have informed earlier, yesterday at a press meeting with Ukrainian journalists Alexander Lukashenka said the presidential elections held in March last year had been rigged in favor of his opponents.
“We have rigged the latest election. 93.5 per cent have voted for Lukashenka. But they say it is not a European number. We have made it 86 per cent,” A. Lukashenka said. According to him, there were promises by Europe before the elections that in case “of approximately European figures at the election, the election would be recognized”. “But it failed too. They promised to recognize the ballot, but they didn’t,” Lukashenka stated.
According to the official information of the CEC 83% of voters gave their votes to Lukashenka.
