On November 28 the leadership of the Party of Communists of Belarus addressed the Constitutional Court, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs demanding to “stop arbitrariness” towards the party members.

PCB press service reports, the Ministry of Justice is in the process of checking the information about party members. The check-up is carried out by officers of law-enforcing bodies and staff of executive committees.

During the check-up they put psychological pressure on the party members. PCB members are suggested to give written explanations why they joined the party, and asked to show a membership card with a mark that they had paid membership fees. The party members are visited at their working places, and invited to local executive bodies for conversations.

PCB leadership has found out that “this procedure of the check-up is proposed in the letters of justice departments of regional executive committees, sent to local administrations with an attached list of local PCB members”.

The Party of Communists of Belarus points out that such actions violate the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the laws “On Political Parties”, and “On Police”.
