The weight of the former candidate for presidency in Belarus, political prisoner Aliaksandr Kazulin is falling. He weights 64 kg today. The Charter’97 press-center has been informed about that by the wife of the political prisoner Iryna Kazulina, who talked to the administration of Vitsebsk colony #3 where the former presidential candidate is to be interrogated. Thus, over the time of imprisonment and hunger strike the political prisoner has lost 41 kg. Today Iryna Kazulina is going to send a telegram to her husband, to inform that the Political Council of the United democratic forces of Belarus has addressed the UN Security Council with a request to consider the Belarusian question. After that, Iryna Kazulina believes, the political prisoner who demands to consider the violations of human rights in Belarus by the UN Security Council can stop the hunger strike.Professor of the Hygiene and medical Ecology of the Belarusian medical academy Valery Muroh commented on possible consequences for Kazulin’s life and health: ’First of all, all kinds of metabolism are out of order, and under-oxidized products which normally would have degraded are accumulated in the body. Liver, kidneys are working bad, slag and salts accumulate, toxins are formed, and it affects the central nervous system and cerebral cortex,’ said Professor of the Hygiene and medical Ecology of the Belarusian medical academy Valery Muroh.
In this situation not a little weight, but a speedy loss of weight is dangerous. It can cause serious damage. Brain hypoxia starts at this stage of the hunger strike. Aliaksandr Kazulin has a low blood pressure, 75/60. It’s a critical one, normal work of the brain is impossible with.
