Editorial Office of Vitebskiy kurier Is Warned by Information Ministry
On 8 December the editorial board of the non-state social-political newspaper Vitebskiy kurier received a warning letter from the Ministry of Information. There the editorial staff was informed that it was to have informed the ministry about the change of the legal address within a month’s term and was warned for the failure to do so. It is quite interesting that the letter is dated 6 December, like the letter from Elsan enterprise to leave the office. It’s worth reminding that in its letter Elsan wrote that the agreement on renting of an office by the editorial board was invalid because the staff concluded it without the agreement of Vitsebsk Pershamaiski borough executive committee.
On 8 December the office was visited by representatives of tax inspection. According to the chief editor Uladzimir Bazan they promised us many times they would come, but it is quite surprising they chose that very day.
0n 7 December Uladzimir Bazan and the executive director of the closed company Publishing House Vitebskiy kurier Zhana Papova met with the deputy chair of Vitsebsk Pershamaiski BEC Viktar Ulasau.
‘It was difficult to get an audience, but we managed to. We wanted to pass documents for re-registration of our statute due to change of the legal address. Our representatives have carried these papers to the executive committee many times, but the officials refused to accept them. Despite the fact that we corrected all mistakes in the documents, Ulasau didn’t take them. He ended with saying that first than concluding a rent agreement with Elsan we were to have got agreement of Pershamaiski BEC,’ Uladzimir Bazan said.
