Minsk: Authorities Ban Concert Dedicated to St. Valentine’s Day
At first the administration of the House of Literary Worker satisfied the application for rent of its hall for holding the concert. However, today they have informed one of the organizers, Franak Viachorka, that the agreement has been cancelled. ‘I also received information that the authorities prohibited to hold any measures in state institutions on 13-14 February’, said Viachorka.
It’s worth saying that well-known literary workers, folk singers and bands that play historical music intended to take part in the concert. A theatrical play with Kastus Kalinouski as the main character was to have been staged and a movie about the Belarusian resistance of the 20th century was to have been demonstrated there. The concert organizers state the event will take place anyway and now they determine its form and are looking for a new place.
