Detentions of distributors of independent newspapers have started in the Belarusian regions. Human rights activists associate this operation with the enforcement of a new Administrative Code.
On 2 March on the Russian border the complete circulation of the last issue of a non-state newspaper Volny horad was arrested. Now it is kept in Klimavichy district police department. In Brest region police and secret services watch the printing and distribution of non-state mass media. According to the chair of Brest regional BPF branch Iury Hubarevich these days the police composed violation reports for it on two persons.
