On 6 March the central council of the Union of Left Parties (a political block, established by the Party of Communists of Belarus, the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) and the Belarusian Women’s Party Nadzeia) decided to file a suit with the Supreme Court of Belarus against the non-registration of the block by the Ministry of Justice. The formal reason for non-registration is that the constituent assembly of the political block was held in Chernihiv, in the Ukraine.
The secretary of the PCB Alena Skryhan said that the ULP founders can appeal the registration refusal till 14 March. She has already been summonsed to the Supreme Court for the preliminary consideration of the suit.
