Viachaslau Siuchyk and Vintsuk Viachorka Charged with Petty Hooliganism
At 10.20 p.m. on 13 March riot police arrested the leader of the Belarusian People’s Front Party Vintsuk Viachorka near his apartment and took him to Minsk Savetski police department.
At 9.30 p.m. they detained a political activist Viachaslau Siuchyk in Iakub Kolas Square in Minsk. They told him he looked like a wanted robber and also took him to Minsk Savetski police department.
Later both detainees were transported to a jail in Akrestsin Street. The police composed on them reports for petty hooliganism (cursing). Today representatives of political parties, OSCE, the US Embassy, human rights activists, journalists, youth activists, friends and relatives waited for them at the entrance of Minsk Savetski borough court. Unexpectedly Siuchyk and Viachorka were passed to their lawyers. The trial over them will take part on 23 March.
It’s worth mentioning that Mr. Viachorka is a member of the organizational committee of the 25 March action dedicated to the Freedom Day.
