The Supreme Court of Belarus ignored the decision of the UN Council for Human Rights about restoring the activity of “Civic Initiatives” NGO based in Homel. “Civic Initiatives” chairman Viktar Karneyenka received a letter from the Supreme Court which says the NGO’s complaint would not be considered.
“In my opinion, the officials of the judicial system continue to refer to inner legal acts and instructions, and consistently ignore not only the Constitution of our country, but also the international agreements ratified by the Republic of Belarus”, -- Leanid Sudalenka, representative of Homel “Legal Initiative” group, told BelaPAN.
