Small entrepreneurs who work at Baranavichy market gathered on March 17 in front of the building of market administration and tax inspectorate on a spontaneous rally.
The vendors demanded to cancel presidential decree #760, which prohibits individual entrepreneurs to hire non-family members.
RFE/RL reports, police officers in uniform and civil clothes arrived at the place of the rally and demanded that street vendors should stop the rally and leave. They suggested the businessmen should elect delegates and send them for negotiations to the market administration and tax inspectorate.
The entrepreneurs were not satisfied with such developments. They promised to hold another rally soon. They put their demands on paper.
