On 5 April Brest Maskouski borough court continued the consideration of the administrative case against the human rights activist Uladzimir Vialichkin, who had been detained on the eve of Freedom Day, 25 March. Two days before the trial Vialichkin was kept in an isolator. The trial was postponed several times. The police witnesses stated that before the detention Vialichkin behaved suspiciously and drew the attention of passers-by. Finally the human rights activist was accused in 'petty hooliganism' and fined 310 000 rubles (about 145 US dollars).
