On 6 April Aleh Volchak, head of the legal service of the former candidate to the presidency of Belarus, political prisoner Aliaksandr Kazulin, and his daughter Iulia Kazulina lodged the claim in the name of the Minsk public prosecutor Mikalai Kulik. Aleh Volchak and Iulia Kazulina demand annulling of the decision of the public prosecutor’s office of the Maskouski borough of Minsk dated 25 April 2006 on refusal of bringing the criminal lawsuit against Almaz special regiment staff who bit Aliakandr Kazulin 2 March 2006 when he attempted to attend the so-called Pan-Belarusian Meeting summoned by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
It is to be mentioned that 2 March 2006 at 9 a.m. the candidate to the presidency of Belarus Kazulin accompanied by his proxies arrived to the Palace of Culture and Sports of the Railway Workers to register his participation in the Third Pan-Belarusian Meeting. But neither he nor his proxies managed to register because they were attacked by a guard in the uniform and civil attire. Aliaksandr Kazulin was beaten personally by the commander of special regiment of the internal forces Zmitser Paulichenka suspected by the world public in kidnapping and killing of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition and a journalist.
