Minsk Executive Committee refused the picket attracting the public attention to the problems connected with implementation of the right of conscience in Belarus. This was reported to the BelaPAN by one of the applicants for the action, co-chairman of the organizing committee on the establishment of Belarusian Christian Democratic Party Aliaksey Shein.A.Shein was informed about the refusal by the officials of the city department of internal affairs of Minsk Executive Committee. ‘For the reason that the picket would be supposedly in the way of pedestrians’, the policymaker said.
According to A. Shein, he assured the officials of the city department of internal affairs that the picket would not be held. ‘We are going to make another application for holding the action in another place’, the policymaker reported.
It is to be mentioned that 5 April A.Shein applied to the Minsk Executive Committee for holding the picket attracting the public attention to the problems connected with implementation of the right of conscience in Belarus 20 April. The picket of 50 people was to be held since 5p.m. until 7.30 p.m. in Svabody Square.
