Young Front Looks for Legal Address

On 4 February 2006 Minsk and Minsk regional KGB office brought a criminal case on the fact of activity of the unregistered organization Young Front. Later the accused in the case were declared Barys Haretski, Dzmitry Fedaruk, Aliaksei Ianusheuski, Aleh Korban and 16-year-old schoolgirl Anastasiya Palazhanka. On 4 April the case was passed to Savetski court of Minsk.

At present Young Front takes the fourth attempt to obtain the official state registration in order to show that it wants to act legally. The last obstacle to it is the absence of a legal address. However, enterprises and organizations fear to lend any offices to oppositional organizations. At the same time, the main economic department of the presidential administration demands 2 250 Euro for giving a legal address to the organization, which by far exceeds the organization’s possibilities.
