Both the activists were punished with 5 days of arrest – Shytsikau for alleged hooliganism and Katsora – for having not come to the police on summons. In addition Uladzimir Katsora was also fined for ‘hooliganism’ 155 000 rubles (about 70 US dollars).
The activists tried to appeal the court verdicts to Savetski court of Homel after the end of the arrest terms, but the chair of the court Aliaksandr Kostrykau depleted their appeal because of the end of the legal 5-day appeal term. This circumstance surprised the activists, as they could not appeal the sentence being under arrest and in his verdict to them Mr. Kostrykau specified that the appeal term was 10 days.
