Homel: PCB Activist Maryia Bahdanovich Sues Executive Committee
According to RFE/RL
The activist of Homel office of the Party of Communists of Belarus Maryia Bahdanovich has sued to Tsentralny court of Homel against Homel city executive committee which hadn’t permitted her to hold a picket against construction of a new nuclear power station.
According to Bahdanovich, the executive committee explained the refusal by writing that the written undertaking of the organizers which had been attached to the application, didn’t correspond to article 10 of the law On mass actions in the Republic of Belarus. Having received the refusal the activist applied to the officials for explanations, but instead received another come-off from the deputy chair of this organ, Siarhei Paroshyn.
At court Maryia Bahdanovich also intends to present a number of other cases when the executive committee groundlessly limited the citizens’ right to mass actions.
