Kazulin meeting relatives in jail
17 May former presidential candidate leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Gramada) Alyaksandr Kazulin serving his sentence in “Vitba-3” jail met with his relatives there. That was reported by the imprisoned policymaker’s daughter Yuliya Kazulina.
According to her, her father feels “satisfactory”. ”His coming out of a hunger strike which he had been keeping for 53 days is very hard. He is still not in position to play football but he plays table tennis”, Yu. Kazulina said.
“He is on a diet 5B that has been prescribed for him in the jail. But, according to him, this diet “does him neither good nor harm “ because an egg and a liter of milk per week is just not what he needs. He attends the canteen. But he doesn’t eat there”, Yu. Kazulina said.
According to the politician’s daughter he is still facing the problems of communicating with other prisoners. “They are afraid of communicating with him as the administration transfers those who communicate with him to other colonies. And this is a very serious method of urging prisoners”, Yu. Kazulina said.
According to her, A. Kazulin and his colleagues finished repairing the room for the library. “We handed 200 books for the library. He may not work there as a librarian but anyway he will read books”, Yu. Kazulina said.
It is to be mentioned that for staging a mass action of protest against falsification of results of the presidential elections 25 March 2006 he was sentenced to 5 .5 years in prison of common regimen.
