'Stop Writing or We’ll Kill You and Your Family'

While on duty, unknown persons severely beat Aliaksandr Berasneu, member of the trade union of Radio Electronic Trade from Buda-Kashaliova district. He has brain concussion and numerous bone fractures.

Berasneu is a watchman at the agrarian Unitarian enterprise Belarusnafta-Asobina and is well-known in the region for his uncompromised character.
Several days before the incident a collective letter signed by Berasneu was sent from guards’workshop. The letter was addressed to the main inspector on Homel region Viktar Shchatsko and pointed at systematic violations of labor legislation and humiliations of the workshop by its head Aliaksandr Reu and also about the unfair position of the enterprise director Liudmila Mayeuskaya.

The majority of workers associate the beating with the letter, as the unknown shouted: ‘Stop writing or we’ll kill you and your family!’

At present Aliaksandr is at the neuro-surgical department of Hrodna regional hospital with brain concussion and numerous fractures. He still feels bad and it is difficult for him to speak. Policemen from Buda-Kashaliova came to him and asked about the incident.

The administration of the trade union is shocked with the incident and is going to spend all efforts for objective investigation of this crime.
