Goods Confiscated from Entrepreneurs
Homel regional organization of the Belarusian trade union of workers of different forms of private business Sadruzhnasts addressed deputy head of Homel regional executive committee Uladzimir Mayorau on the occasion of mass confiscations of goods from entrepreneurs. It is said in the address that administrative penalties imposed on Homel entrepreneurs, which has gained regional scale recently, stipulates for social tension among businessmen.
As deputy chairperson of Sadruzhnasts Viktar Yalfimau told BelaPAN, frequent fines and confiscations of goods are induced by the contradictions within the Administrative Code norms, lingered term of hygienic registration as well as its high price. The trade union calls upon Homel regional executive committee to halt mass examinations of quality warrants executed by the tax institutions, unless these issues are settled. It is emphasized in the statement that the powers of Homel region have already undertaken such measures.
’For some reason, the hygienic registration is lingered deliberately; it takes up to one month, so that the demand for the goods can diminish. The certification can cost more than the goods - is it a norm? It’s a deadlock for entrepreneurs, which controlling institutions benefit from. They confiscated shoes some time ago; now it’s turn of curtain lace and coverlets, which is strange,’ - Yalfimau pointed.
