Yesterday, after 10 p.m. Niasvizh police continued a search in the house of Ales Yazvinski, chief editor of the independent weekly BRAMA.

Lawyer Sviatlana Panamarenka told RFE/RL about the search. She reported, in the afternoon Ales Yazvinski was detained in Baranavichy. The police seized all the print run of the Brama weekly and interrogated the editor.

"When Ales returned home, he was visited by an investigator of Niasvizh police department, then, a head of investigation department, as he called himself, appeared in the house with a group of policemen", -- Panamarenka says.

In a telephone conversation with a police officer the lawyer found out that they had no search warrant.

“The senior officer is trying to seize a microprocessor from the computer of Ales Yazvinski. He says he suspects the chief editor of the intention to destroy valuable information contained in his computer”.

At that moment Ales Yazvinski’s both mobile and home telephones were turned off.
