A human rights activist Uladzimir Vialichkin told RFE/RL that the riot police detained several public activists near the General consulate of Russia in Brest.
‘The youngsters were holding posters ‘No unions with Russia!’ and chanted ‘Putin Go Home!’. Soon two police cars arrived. The police detained Nasta Iliina and Andrei Sharenda. Though the detainees showed to the policemen their passports, the latter ones took them to Leninski district police department of Brest and then to Leninski district court. The judge Larysa Nazarenka sentenced Nasta to five days of jail and Andrei – to seven days.
