Become Member of Pro-Lukashenka Youth Union to Enter University?
Soon there will be enforced the new rules for entering high schools. The Ministry of Education proposes to introduce a norm obliging the pretenders to education on a number of specialities to present letters of introduction.
It was stated by the education minister Aliaksandr Radzkou on 11 January, before the beginning of the counsel of the workers of the educational system ‘Concerning the development of general and secondary education’, BelaPAN informs.
According to the minister, this norm will concern the specialities which are important for ‘presentation of the state positions’. These are international relations, state management and journalism. According to the minister, those who intend to receive education on these specialities must not only be prepared on the necessary subjects, but also have some experience of leadership, as, for instance, ‘membership in the Belarusian Republican Youth Union’ (BRSM, odious pro-presidential ‘state NGO’). ‘In this case the matriculants will be more suitable for working as diplomats, for instance’, stated the minister.
Among other possible novelties A.Radzkou mentioned the possible introduction of $4 fee for passing each of the entrance exams.
