Baranavichy: Police Try to Disrupt Action of Entrepreneurs
On 10 February in Baranavichy the local entrepreneurs held an action of protest against president’s decree #760. More than 200 entrepreneurs, activists of public movements and political parties gathered in the city park despite the refusal of the authorities to authorize the action.
Before the beginning of the action the police preventively detained the Young Front activists Vadzim Biahenia and Yaraslau Hryshchenia and took them to the police station.
According to the information of a Baranavichy human rights activist Siarhei Housha, the entrepreneurs went to the central city square to meet with the authorities. However, the ways to the district executive committee were blocked by about 40 policemen. Then there arrived busses with riot police, who enforced the blockade of the central square.
The entrepreneurs intend to gather again on Wednesday in Baranavichy city executive committee, to meet with the officials.
