Police Confiscate 2 000 Copies of Svaboda Newspaper
About 2 000 copies of the non-state newspaper Svaboda were confiscated from an activist of Asipovichy branch of the Young Front Artsiom Dubski.
His car was stopped by the road police when he was driving home. ‘They inspected the car together with KGB workers’, Artsiom says. ‘At first they said they were interested in some defects of the car, but when they finally found some packages of newspapers, it became evident what they were looking for.’
As a result the Young Front activist was guarded to the district police department and detained there for three hours. The circulation was arrested and a report about illegal distribution of unregistered newspapers was composed. A check-up will be conducted for 10 days. Then it will become known whether Artsiom Dubski will be tried for these newspapers or not.
