Siarhei Parsiukevich Confronted to ‘Police Victim’
Yesterday the activist of entrepreneurs’ movement Siarhei Parsiukevich was visited by his lawyer Vera Stramkouskaya.
‘The confrontation of my defendant with Aliaksandr Dulub, the policeman whom he had allegedly beaten in prison in Akrestsin Street, lasted till 8 p.m. yesterday. Of course, in presence of the investigator the policeman blankly refused Parsiukevich’s words. Nevertheless, the investigator decided to continue the confrontation today.
According to Stramkouskaya, Parsiukevich continues insisting on unlawfulness of the criminal case brought against him.
‘He spent the last few days in the quarantine and says that he has a light cold, because it is very cold there. On Friday, despite his protests, his hair was cut and today he is to be transferred to the cell where he will be kept during the investigation.
Bear in mind that on 31 January 2008 a criminal case under article 364 of the Criminal Code (‘violence or threat of violence towards policeman’) was brought against the activist. The maximal punishment is six years of jail. He is accused of having beaten a duty policeman while serving his 15-day arrest term in prison in Akrestsin Street.
