Parsiukevich to be tried 16 October
As the BelaPAN information agency was informed by the lawyer Vera Stramkouskaya, the legal proceedings in the case of the entrepreneur Siarhei Parsiukevich will start 16 October. The case will be tried by the judge Uladzimir Audzeyenka. The case was passed to the court 31 March.
V.Stramkouskaya said that on 2 April the wife finally managed to pass to Parsiukevich the necessary medicines. In his note to her the prisoner wrote that his state of health had rapidly deteriorated. He has exacerbation of bronchial asthma and has difficulties with breathing. There are 13 more persons in his cell and many of them smoke.
Bear in mind that Siarhei Parsiukevich, entrepreneur from Vitsebsk, was arrested 4 March when he came for an interrogation to the prosecutor’s office of Maskouski district of Minsk. He received charges under article 364 of the Criminal Code (violence or threat of violence towards a policeman). He is accused of having beating a duty policeman while serving arrest in the remand prison in Akrestsin Street in Minsk. The defense insists that it was Parsiukevich, who was beaten by the duty policemen.
Another interesting point is that the same day, 16 April, Tsentralny district court of Minsk will try the ‘case of 14’. Fourteen young marchers are accused under article 342-1 of the Criminal Code, ‘organizing or preparing the actions which grossly violate the public order, or active participation in them’. These charges were brought against them for participation in the 10 January rally of entrepreneurs.
