Swedish Human Rights Defenders Express Support to the Persons Charged in “Case of 10”
Today, April 16, Swedish human rights defenders from the Swedish Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights expresse their support to the persons charged in the “criminal case of 10”.
- It is an obviously politically motivated case, says Martin Uggla, chairperson of the Swedish Initiative, to Swedish mass media.
The persons in the criminal case are accused of mass riot at the unauthorized protest action of entrepreneurs held 10 January in Minsk.
- The Belarusian regime’s attempt at suppressing its opponents by law must be paid much more attention to in Europe, continues Martin Uggla.
The Swedish Initiative is trying to raise the interest in Sweden about the worsening situation in Belarus through their newly launched “Campaign 193 – in support of freedom of association in Belarus”.
