‘Case of 14’: trial postponed till 26 May

The trail over the participants of the protest of entrepreneurs has been postponed till 26 May, 9.30 a.m. Maksim Dashuk, Mikhal Subach and Pavel Vinahradau will appear in court. Another participant of the process – Alexander Barazenka, is abroad now. The case will be judged by Viktar Yesman.

14 opposition activists are involved in the case on participation in the protest actions of entrepreneurs. 10 of them were convicted earlier. The youth activist Andrei Kim was sentenced to 1.5 in penal colony by Tsentralny district court of Minsk. Other participants of the trial of 14 – Aliaksei Bondar, Ales Charnyshou, Artsiom Dubski, Mikhail Kryvau, Mikhal Pashkevich, Ales Straltsou and Tatsiana Tsishkevich were sentenced to correctional labor without placement toem to penitentiary institutions. Anton Koipish and Uladzimir Siarheyeu were fined 3.5 million rubles (about 1643 US dollars) each.  The verdict was read by Judge Alena Iliina.

It should be reminded that about 5 000 people attended the protest action on 10 January. They blocked off Nezalezhnastsi Avenue protesting against discriminative decrees of Alexander Lukashenka.

23 May activists of the civil campaign European Belarus held an action of solidarity with the remaining accused in the ‘case of 14’. They lined up on the pavement of Nezalezhnastsi Avenue not far from Peramohi Square, with portraits of Dashuk, Subach and Vinahradau.
