The database of the restricted to travel abroad persons of the border service contains about 260 000 people.

Vadzim Zaitzau, first deputy head of the State Border Committee (SBC), said it on 5 June at the meeting with Russian journalists in the frames of a press-tour around Belarus.

He stressed the base of Belarusian border guards included the data furnished by Russia, and the information on the people on the Interpol wanted list and other international structures, BelaPAN writes.

‘Every state, having automated passport control systems, has similar bases. They act in different ways, but there is, for example, a common European database. 100 per cent of people, entering the European Union, is controlled and can be denied entry by border agencies without giving explanations,’ the first deputy head of the State Border Committee of Belarus stressed.

According to him, all Belarusian border checkpoints have automated passport control systems.
