According to an official letter from judge Husakova, the Narodnaia volia newspaper will not be able to sue Belarusian parliamentary officials for denying accreditation to its journalist Maryna Koktysh. It’s Narodnaia volia’s second attempt to call Belarusian authorities to account over the same charges. This time, Minsk Maskouski Borough Court said neither Koktysh nor the newspaper had a right to appeal to court. Meanwhile, this fundamental right is guaranteed by the Belarusian Constitution.
According to Belarusian Association of Journalists, the newspaper is going to lodge the same complaint with Minsk City Court.
