Baranavichy: state media start early agitation for deputy Vankovich
Recently almost all mass media of Baranavichy have started publishing frequent articles about the activities of Anatol Vankovich, deputy of the Chamber of Representatives. Mr. Vankovich intends to run for this position for the second time already. Meanwhile, the Electoral Code permits agitation only after the end of candidates’ registration.
In particular, in Nash Krai #87 of 26 July, in the article ‘We’ve done all we could and even a bit more…’ and in #89 of 31 July, ‘When authority works to good’ journalist Mikalai Khudenka takes all possible efforts to praise the achievements of deputy Vankovich, especially in reception of visitors: ‘… Strangely enough, but many of the problems who seemed hardly solvable to the citizens, were easily solved by deputy Vankovich. Why? To understand this you need just to have his nature: to love people and help them in everything he can.’
There’s no doubt that such ‘odes’ are published to agitate for Vankovich’s candidacy. Bear in mind, that the collection of signatures for Vankovich is controlled by the ideological department of Baranavichy city executive committee, which ordered each of the city schools to direct five persons for collecting the signatures. This process is supervised by Aleh Savos, head of the personnel department of Baranavichy CEC.
