152 election observers received official accreditation in Belarus

On 5 August, at the press-conference in Minsk the head of the Central Electoral Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna stated that official accreditation had been already given to 152 observers.
Four of them were accredited at the Central Electoral Commission, 30 represented the CIS mission. The rest are accredited at district electoral commissions and mostly represent political parties.
On 29 July observer’s certificate #1 was issued to Sergey Lebedev, the CIS executive secretary. All in all, about 300 people will work in the CIS observation mission.
On 29 July the first three representatives of the OSCE mission came to Belarus. They are dealing with technical provision of the activities of long-term and short-term observers from the OSCE. The long-term observers (about 40 people) are expected to come to Belarus on 17-18 August. About 300 short-term observers will come several days prior to the Election Day, the BelaPAN informs.
