Vitsebsk: new action for boycott of elections

In the run-up to the so-called Parliamentary elections actions under Boycott! title are held all over Belarus.

Another rally urging to boycott the vote was held in Vitsebsk. Activists of youth organizations held it in different places in the centre of the city. Young people have written the words Boycott at the busiest spots of Vitsebsk. Besides, more and more stickers Boycott are appearing in Vitsebsk.

In autumn 2008 a Parliamentary election is to be held in Belarus. In connection with the intensified political repressions in Belarus, the regime’s disinclination to liberalize the electoral code, and as long as international organizations called all elections and referenda in Belarus since 1996 undemocratic and not free, many Belarusians are set to boycott the election to the so-called Parliament.
