Minsk: little information about personnel of precinct commissions

According to the preliminary information for 14 August, the majority of oppositional candidates were not appointed to the precinct electoral commissions in Minsk. Almost all district executive committees refuse to give any precise information to the interested parties.

Ales Lahvinets’ initiative group had nominated its representatives to precinct commission #102. At first Frunzenski district executive committee of Minsk refused to inform him about the time of the sitting on forming of the precinct commissions. On 14 August he was told that the sitting had already taken place, but received no information concerning inclusion of representatives of his initiative group in the precinct commissions.

The rulings of some of the district executive committees of Minsk are already known. They show an interesting tendency: representatives of democratic forces are nominated only to closed precincts.

For instance, according to the information of the headquarters of the Party of Communists Belarusian, the party had nominated 43 persons to the precinct commissions of Kolaskayskaya constituency #106. Savetski district executive committee of Minsk ruled to include three persons in the precinct commissions which will work at closed precincts in the infections diseases hospital (precinct #495), in the military hospital (precinct #500) and the police hospital (#505).

A candidate from the Belarusian Popular Front was also appointed to the precinct commission of tuberculosis dispensary.
